a/ Beaujolais is a wine-growing region located just north of Lyon, in eastern France, between Burgundy and the northern Rhône Valley. It stretches over approximately 55 kilometers and is planted mainly on granitic and schist soils, particularly in the northern part of the region. Beaujolais is best known for its ten crus, including Morgon, Fleurie, Moulin-à-Vent, and Brouilly.

b/ The Northern Rhône Valley is located south of Lyon and extends to the town of Valence. It is a narrow, steep vineyard following the Rhône River, characterised by terraced hillsides. The region is primarily planted with Syrah for red wines, and Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussanne for whites. Key appellations include Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Cornas, and Saint-Joseph.

c/ Burgundy is located in eastern France, south of Champagne and north of Beaujolais. The vineyards follow a north–south axis from Chablis in the north to the Mâconnais in the south. Burgundy is renowned for its detailed classification of climats and its focus on terroir. Pinot Noir dominates red wines, while Chardonnay is the main white grape. Major sub-regions include Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, and Mâconnais.

d/ Châteauneuf-du-Pape is located in the Southern Rhône Valley, near the city of Avignon, in southeastern France. The appellation covers around 3,000 hectares spread across several villages. It is known for its warm Mediterranean climate and diverse soils, including galets roulés, sand, clay, and limestone. Grenache is the dominant grape, supported by varieties such as Syrah, Mourvèdre, Roussanne, and Clairette.

e/ Atelier des Rempart. Located in Lyon’s Presqu’île, in the 2nd district, our wine house iswithin a 20-minute walk from most central hotels and can easily be reached by taxi or Uber. Ainay, the name of this historic neighbourhood, is a wonderful area to discover, refined, authentic, and away from the beaten path of Lyon’s main area.

a/ Beaujolais is easily reached from Lyon, with a drive of around 45 minutes to 1hour from Lyon city center or Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport. Thanks to its proximity, Beaujolais can be discovered on a day trip from Lyon,though a 2-day stay allows for a more relaxed exploration, often combined with Burgundy or the Northern Rhône.

b/ The Northern Rhône Valley is located just south of Lyon. The main appellations (Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage) are between 45minutes and 1h30 by car from Lyon. This region is ideal for day trips from Lyon, or for a 2-day journey combined with Beaujolais or the Southern Rhône.

c/ From Paris, Burgundy is about a 2-hour drive. High-speed trains also connect Paris Gare de Lyon to Dijon or Beaune in around 1h30.Burgundy can be explored over several days, as the region is vast and highly diverse, from Chablis in the north to the Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise further south. A stay of 3 to 5 days is ideal to fully appreciate its vineyards and villages.

d/ Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Southern Rhône) is best reached by train to Avignon TGV, followed by a 20-minutedrive. From Paris, the high-speed train takes about 2h40. From Lyon, the drive is approximately 2 hours. The Southern Rhône is well suited to a 2- to 3-day stay and can be combined with nearby regions such as Provence or the Northern Rhône.

Any time of year is a good time to discover a vineyard. Winter is the time to gather in a château around an open fire to taste fine wines,while in summer we prefer a 19th-century manor house with a formal garden and swimming pool.

c/ The northern Rhône is characterized by contrasting landscapes combining hills, plateaus, and steep-sided valleys. It is distinguished by its abundant nature, with wooded areas, agricultural zones, and numerous panoramic views. The region also boasts a rich historical heritage, with charming villages, Gallo-Roman sites, and rural towns, as well as a strong local identity, influenced by Lyon, the Alps, and the Mediterranean.

d/ Châteauneuf-du-Pape has a rich historical heritage, notably the remains of an ancient medieval castle linked to the Avignon papacy. The village offers a typically Provençal landscape, with open land, vegetation adapted to the Mediterranean climate, and sweeping views of the Rhône. Its identity is based on history, architecture, and a natural setting shaped by wind and sun.

e/ Lyon is distinguished by its exceptional historical and architectural heritage, ranging from ancient ruins to Renaissance neighborhoods and more contemporary urban developments.
